CBS Sports Ranks College Football Coaches And Puts Dantonio 5 Spots Ahead Of Harbaugh

If you are a fan of Michigan State football, all you have heard since Michigan hired Jim Harbaugh is "Your run is over, Sparty!"

I know I have heard this so many times. Then Michigan State went out and beat Michigan at "The Big House" last season and of course all Michigan fans could say is "you were lucky."

I have been a firm believer that Michigan State isn't going to fall off just because their rival, Michigan, got a good coach. Did people forget that Mark Dantonio, the man who brought the Spartans back to respectability and to a College Football Playoff, is still the head coach in East Lansing?

CBS Sports decided to rank the Power 5 coaches in college football. When I clicked on the link I was expecting to find Jim Harbaugh over Mark Dantonio for the battle of the best coach in the state. What I found surprised me.

Jim Harbaugh came in at number 10 on the list.

If these rankings were based on the amount of attention the coaches receive, Harbaugh would be No. 1 by miles. Being No. 10 isn't that bad, though. He showed up in Ann Arbor and took a Michigan program that had struggled in previous seasons and posted 10 wins right out the gate.

Mark Dantonio, according to CBS Sports, can't play the disrespect card anymore as they rank him at 5, which is up from 15 from the previous year.

I'm sorry, Mark, but you can no longer claim we are disrespecting you with our rankings. We probably were last year, we'll admit it. No. 15 was a bit too low. That's our bad.

The only coaches in front of Dantonio were Bob Stoops, Gary Patterson, Urban Meyer and of course Nick Saban.

Do you agree with this list?
