Caught On Camera: Westland Police Searching For Christmas Day Gas Station Robber [VIDEO]

WESTLAND (WWJ) - Police in Westland have released security footage from a Christmas Day robbery at a gas station in hopes that someone might be able to recognize the crook.

The incident happened around 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 25 at the Speedway gas station on Merriman and Van Born roads.

According to police, the suspect walked into the station with a large gym bag. After being in the store for a short time, the suspect put on a mask, pointed an unknown weapon at the employees and ordered them to the ground.

When the clerks retreated to an office the suspect ran out the front door of the gas station.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 40s or early 50s with a medium complexion and a mustache. He was wearing a grey and black striped winter hat with "Detroit" printed on it multiple times, a black jacket and blue jeans.
