Car Slams Into Portable Potty Along Woodward Dream Cruise Route

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Crews in Royal Oak are dealing with quite the clean-up after a car slammed into a portable potty along Woodward Avenue.

The multi-car accident happened Friday morning on northbound Woodward Avenue, just before 14 Mile Road.

Police say a southbound-traveling vehicle lost control, crossed the median and struck a northbound-traveling vehicle head-on, taking out a portable toilet that was in the median in the process. Two other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The portable potty was set up alongside Woodward Avenue in anticipation for crowds surrounding Saturday's Dream Cruise. Officials described its condition as "destroyed." Luckily, no one was inside at the time of the crash.

Three people received minor injuries, according to authorities. Paramedics are on the scene, along with police and fire crews.

At this time, northbound Woodward remains open to traffic -- but the backup is about a mile long.
