Car, Semi Collide Leaving 1 Dead, 1 Critical In Washtenaw County

WASHTENAW COUNTY (WWJ) - One person was killed Wednesday evening in a wreck along eastbound I-94 in Washtenaw County.

Joyce Williams is spokesperson for Huron Valley Ambulance spoke about the accident which happened just after 6 p.m.

"At Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti Township we had a car and a semi involved in an accident. We transported one patient in critical condition to St. Joes, and we also did have one fatal on scene," said Williams.

She notes the wintery mix of freezing rain and snow and the rapid change in weather patterns may have contributed to the conditions leading up to the accident.

All lanes of eastbound I-94 at U.S.-12 were closed for hours as authorities continued their investigation.
