Car Drives Into Shelby Township Home, Causes Gas Leak

SHELBY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- Shelby Township police are investigating after a car crashed into house, causing a gas leak on Friday night.

A 61-year-old man from Sterling Heights told investigators that he was driving eastbound on 23 Mile Rd. and was unable to stop his car because his accelerator was stuck.

The man's Toyota sideswiped another vehicle and lost control, crashing into a home near the intersection. The damage to the home was extensive and resulted in a natural gas leak.
