Bus Full Of Students Crashes In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say a school bus full of students crashed on Detroit's east side and fortunately, no one was injured.

The accident happened Thursday morning near Flanders and Dickerson streets, just east of Gratiot Avenue.

Reporting live from the scene, WWJ's Mike Campbell said three buses were on the street, as well as a white Monte Carlo with visible front end damage.

Circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, and police haven't yet determined who was at fault. Slick roads may have played a factor.

Detroit Public Schools spokesperson Steve Wasko said the bus was heading to Brewer Elementary, which is about two miles away from the crash site. He said no students were injured, and EMS crews were on the scene strictly for observation.

An investigation is ongoing.
