Brothers Who Drowned Described As Very Close

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP (AP) — Two mid-Michigan brothers who drowned in a pond are described as boys who were "always together holding hands."

Owen Cross and Xander Convery-Cross were found in a pond behind their home Thursday in Gratiot County's Hamilton Township. They were 2-years-old and 3-year-old.

An obituary posted on the website of Walker-Martin Funeral Home says the boys "lit up everyone's life." They had the same father but different mothers. A funeral will be held Monday at the funeral home in Chesaning.

Gratiot County Sheriff Doug Wright has said the boys apparently wandered away from their home Thursday morning. No one was available at the sheriff's office for additional comment Saturday.
