Body Pulled From Lake St. Clair Near Yacht Club

GROSSE POINTE SHORES (WWJ) - Authorities confirm a body has been pulled from Lake St. Clair.

The body was found Wednesday morning near Lake Shore and Vernier roads, not too far from the Grosse Pointe Shores Yacht Club.

The U.S. Coast Guard and Wayne County Sheriff's Marine Division helped retrieve the body, which was found floating in shallow water.

Authorities say it's unclear how long the body was in the water, of if it's that of a male or female.

The remains will be taken to the medical examiner's office where an autopsy will be performed.

Several police officers and the medical examiner are on the scene.
