Body Of Missing Texas Woman Found In Southern Michigan Lake

CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say they've found the body of a Texas woman who was missing after jumping into the water while boating with friends at a small southern Michigan lake.

The Hillsdale County sheriff's department says the body of 28-year-old Tabitha Lynn Vear of Conroe was recovered Thursday night from Baw Beese Lake in Cambria Township.

The department says she jumped in Wednesday night for a swim and friends called 911 when they realized something was wrong. Crews searched Wednesday and Thursday.

The Hillsdale Daily News reports Vear was a 2006 Hillsdale High School graduate who recently moved to Texas from California. She was in Michigan visiting friends and family.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports the search was difficult because debris, such as a bathtub and boat motors, were found by searchers.
