Body Of Missing Michigan Kayaker Found In Lake

MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a missing kayaker has been found in a western Michigan lake.

The Muskegon County sheriff's department says the body was recovered Tuesday night from Muskegon Lake. The Muskegon Chronicle reports he's identified as 53-year-old Muskegon resident Vincent Jones, who had been reported missing earlier in the day.

Muskegon police, the Muskegon County sheriff's department and the U.S. Coast Guard were among those who searched for the kayaker.

The kayak believed to have been used by Jones was found along the shore. City police say he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is planned.
