Body Found On Steps Of Pontiac Public Library

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Authorities in Oakland County are investigating after a body was found on the steps of a public library.

The discovery was made around 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Pontiac Public Library on Pike Street at Woodward Avenue.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call from someone who apparently found the body of a black male on steps leading to the library's entrance.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they confirmed the man was dead.

The Associated Press reports the 56-year-old man was homeless.

At this time, the medical examiner's office does not have information on a possible cause of death.

The man's name has not yet been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
