Body Found In Boat Fire Could Be Grand Rapids Firefighter

SPRING LAKE, Mich. (AP) — Grand Rapids firefighters say a body found in a boat fire could be a longtime co-worker.

Lt. David Knisley is missing. He owned the boat that was destroyed by fire early Sunday at a Spring Lake marina in Ottawa County.

Grand Rapids Battalion Chief Ron Tennant says firefighters are "hoping for the best but preparing for the worst." The sheriff's department is investigating.

The boat sank and the body was found when the boat was raised from the water. The Coast Guard was called to contain a spill of fuel and oil from the boat.

The fire damaged another boat at the marina.
