MDOT Workers Find Body On I-94/I-275 Ramp In Romulus

ROMULUS (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are investigating after a body was found in a ditch on the ramp from eastbound I-94 to southbound I-275 in Romulus.

Police tell WWJ Newsradio 950 that a Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) work crew made the discovery in a swampy area, at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

No information was immediately available as to the identity of the victim. The body is decomposed to a point where it's still unclear whether the deceased is a man or a woman, according to police.

Special Investigations Section detectives are working along with the MSP Forensic Lab on the investigation.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Wayne County Medical Examiner to determine cause of death.
