Body Found At Dearborn Hills Golf Course ID'd As Missing Man

DEARBORN (WWJ) - Authorities say a body found on a public golf course in Dearborn is that of 62-year-old man who was reported missing last weekend.

The discovery was made midday Friday off the 18th fairway at the Dearborn Hills Golf Course, located along Telegraph Road just north of Michigan Avenue.

The course, which is owned by the city, had been the focus of a police search for Harry "Henry" Fishwick, who was last seen Sunday evening.

Investigators turned their attention to the course around 10:30 a.m. Friday after recovering property belonging to Fishwick along the Rouge River, near Michigan and Telegraph. A dive team was called to the scene and around 2 p.m., searchers located a body under water.

Sources confirm the body has been identified as Fishwick. Investigators say there was no sign of foul play, but a cause of death has not yet been determined.

"This is an active and on-going investigation and while there are preliminary findings in the incident I am waiting until autopsy reports are completed before speculating on the cause and manner of death," Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement. "This is a tragic situation and our thoughts and condolences go out to Mr. Fishwick's family."

An investigation is ongoing.
