Block 'M' Painted Green On Michigan Campus [PHOTO]

ANN ARBOR (AP) - The block "M" on the Diag at the University of Michigan has been painted green ahead of the school's football game against Michigan State.

The defaced brass letter was spotted Wednesday morning on the main pedestrian walkway through Central Campus in Ann Arbor. The letters "S" and "U" also were painted in white alongside the "M," spelling out "MSU."

Such graffiti has traditionally been part of the week leading up to the game between Michigan and Michigan State. On Michigan State's East Lansing campus, University of Michigan supporters sometimes try to deface the Spartan statue with maize and blue paint.

No. 8. Michigan State is favored by more than two touchdowns in Saturday's matchup in East Lansing with the Wolverines.
