Blake Lively Makes Battling A Great White Shark Look Good In 'The Shallows' Trailer

The "Gossip Girl" traded in her trendy wardrobe for a rash guard, bikini and a surf board in her latest role in "The Shallows".

The trailer released Wednesday shows Blake Lively make her way to a secluded beach where the waves are perfect, but something is lurking below the surface.

After she's attacked and drags herself to a small rock a small distance from shore, Lively's character witnesses two fellow surfers devoured by a massive great white shark.

The essence of the plot resides in how she'll get back to safety before the tide comes in.

"The Shallows" opens August 12 and is one of three films Lively appears in this year.
