Biggby Coffee Reports Database Breach, Possible Customer Data Theft

EAST LANSING (AP) — Michigan-based Biggby Coffee says personal information from some customers and job applicants may have been accessed after a company database was hacked.

The coffee chain said Friday in a letter on its website that the data may include names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and employment history information.

The information would have been provided to the company by customers registering their BIGGBY cards and in employment applications.

Biggby says no credit card information, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers or driver's license numbers were accessed.

The incident has been reported to the FBI and other authorities. The company says it is not aware of any misuse of customer personal information.

Biggby's headquarters is in East Lansing, Michigan. It has more than 150 franchises in nine states.
