Bicyclist In Critical Condition After Crash
CANTON (WWJ) - Police say a 32-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike.
The accident happened around 6:26 p.m. Monday on westbound Michigan Avenue between I-275 and Lotz Road in Canton.
According to police, the man was riding his bike across Michigan Avenue in the pedestrian crossing when he was struck by a Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck. He was rushed to a local hospital and was last listed in critical condition. His name was not immediately released.
The driver of the truck, a 62-year-old Brighton man, was not injured.
Police say alcohol and excessive speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
