Betts Hurt Attempting To Catch Abreu Home-Run Drive [VIDEO]

BOSTON (AP) — Red Sox center fielder Mookie Betts was injured in the sixth inning when he tumbled into Boston's bullpen while attempting to catch a drive by Jose Abreu of the Chicago White Sox that went for a home run.

Betts was initially credited with catching the ball while twisting his body and hitting the wall with his lower back, then flipping over and landing in the bullpen.

The ball came out and after a video review of nearly three minutes, Abreu was credited with a two-run homer that gave the White Sox a 7-2 lead Tuesday night.

Boston's training staff attended to Betts outside the Red Sox dugout as the play was reviewed. Betts was replaced by Rusney Castillo, and the Red Sox said Betts was being evaluated for a possible concussion.
