Come one, come all to the Third Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bike Ride, hosted by Tour de Troit. This 10-mile bike ride was created to remember the man behind the infamous "I Have a Dream" speech, which was orated to a crowd in Detroit. This has evolved into an annual event, and this marks the third year the ride will take place. Everyone will meet (with their bikes and a helmet) at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center, where the ride begins and ends. The route will encompass numerous historical sites with relevance to Dr. King and local activists. This is a perfect activity for families, friends or co-workers, and all ages are welcome to participate. Registration for the event is free, and there is complimentary hot chocolate being served to everyone after the ride ends. Please register in advance here.

Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is hosting a wonderful opportunity to connect with others through a variety of programming. Start the day with the breakfast, an MLK tradition at The Wright. Continue the celebration as the day unfolds to reveal more activities and workshops. The museum will feature storytelling presented in unique ways, children's crafts, films and performances. The cost is complimentary, and included with museum admission.

This event was created to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King. Included in the admission is a special lunch and a presentation from three guests who challenged themselves to succeed and worked together to achieve their goals, both individually and collectively. The esteemed speakers for this event are "The Three Doctors," childhood friends who overcame obstacles to ensure their dreams became a reality. It is expected to be an inspirational event. The 2015 Detroit MLK Day Rally and March is an event focused on "Jobs, Peace and Justice." The gathering was created to draw attention to issues facing Americans today. The rally and march will take place at the Central United Methodist Church in Detroit. In addition, the church is accepting clothing donations for the less fortunate; please bring new hats, gloves, socks and underwear.

This annual fundraising event is held at The Henry Ford and is hosted by the Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength (MOSES). The purpose of the benefit is to celebrate past success and embrace the next year ahead. The group promotes and encourages the legacy of Dr. King in an uplifting manner.
