"Evil Dead: The Musical" runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, October 1-31 at the City Theatre. Shows start at 8 pm and are $30 for general admission. This bloody hilarious show is based on Detroit native Sam Raimi's 80s cult classic horror films. If you love vintage macabre-ana, this show is for you. The historic event will be held Saturday, October 17th, 2015. Doors open at 6:30pm, and it's gonna get weird. The historic--and fully restored--Redford Theatre gives itself up to Halloween haunts of the Hitchcock variety all through the month of October. Classic films are shown weekends: most Friday and Saturday shows start at 8 p.m., and on Sunday's there's usually a 7 p.m. show and a 2 p.m. matinee (just like the good old days). There's a creepy Metropolis Silent Film Fest on October 2. Other movies include Night of the Hunter, The Birds, Dessert, Marnie and Young Frankenstein. There's also two-weekends shows of The Ghoul Hosts Godzilla Fest, featuring all those funky old-school Japanese Godzilla flicks. All shows are preceded by a concert on the fabulous 1920s Barton theater organ. Tickets are $5 to $7 at the door.
