Bedazzled Case Carries Stunning Find For TSA Agents At Metro

DETROIT (WWJ) - A stun gun disguised in a pink, bejeweled lipstick case was confiscated Sunday at Detroit Metro Airport when it was spotted by a Transportation Security Administration agent in a woman's carry-on bag.

TSA spokesman Jim McKinney says it's not unusual to find such items.

"It can be a knife concealed in a credit card, it can be a stun gun in a lipstick case, or any other variety of concealed weapons," said McKinney.

He tells WWJ's Marie Osborne that the woman was coming to the checkpoint at Metro Airport and she had a stun gun disguised as a bejeweled lipstick case.

McKinney says people need to use care when packing for a flight.

"A lot of times we'll say completely unpack that bag that you may have went hunting with, or whatever you did with the bag, before you re-pack it to come to the airport," he said.

As per procedure, the woman was cited by airport police. She was able to make her flight to Florida.
