Bears WR Morgan Charged With Assault In DC

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chicago Bears wide receiver Josh Morgan has been arrested and charged with punching a man outside a Washington nightclub.

DC police spokesman Officer Paul Metcalf confirmed Monday night that a man named Josh Morgan was arrested early Sunday and charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor. The Bears say they are aware of "Josh Morgan's presence at a weekend incident in Washington, D.C.," and are gathering information.

Morgan agreed to a one-year contract with Chicago last week. He played for Washington for each of the previous two seasons.

Morgan told WRC-TV in Washington that he didn't touch the man. The TV station also reported that Morgan was issued a citation to appear in court.
