Bay City, Grand Haven To Get Detroit Museum Outdoor Displays

BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Institute of Arts is expanding its program to install reproductions of artworks outdoors to Bay City and Grand Haven.

The update to the "Inside/Out" effort is part of a pilot project to expand the displays beyond the Detroit area reports The Bay City Times.

Museum spokeswoman Jillian Reese says the DIA "wanted to try out two cities we felt offered a unique landscape and a good variety of locations to install art."

Earlier this year, the museum announced plans to install more than 90 reproductions of artworks outdoors around the Detroit area this spring. The museum's "Inside/Out" displays started in 2010 as part of a celebration of the DIA's 125th anniversary.
