Barry Sanders To Receive 2015 Doak Walker Legends Award

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Former Oklahoma State running back Barry Sanders has been selected to receive the 2015 Doak Walker Legends Award.

The PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced the selection of Sanders on Thursday.

The award is presented each year to a former running back who becomes a prominent figure in the community following their collegiate careers. Sanders was cited for his annual Barry Sanders and Friends Celebrity Golf Classic that raises funds for a number of charities.

Sanders won the 1988 Heisman Trophy after rushing for 2,850 yards and 42 touchdowns for OSU, then went on to an NFL Hall of Fame career with the Detroit Lions.
