Auto Supplier Valiant International Expanding In Michigan

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Auto parts supplier Valiant International plans to expand its North American presence with the purchase of an 187,000-square-foot facility in suburban Detroit.

The Michigan Strategic Fund board on Tuesday approved a $2.3 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant for Windsor, Ontario-based Valiant's project. It's expected to generate private capital investment of $32.7 million and create 223 jobs over the next three years

The Auburn Hills facility will be dedicated to manufacturing vehicle bodies excluding welded parts.

In addition to performance-based grant, the city of Auburn Hills will provide an eight-year property tax abatement for the project.
