Missing 2-Year-Old Michigan Girl Found Unharmed

TAWAS CITY, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - A 2-year-old girl who was reported missing by her family has been found.

Shortly after noon on Thursday, officials confirmed to WWJ Newsradio 950 that Brooklyn Lynn Lilly, who'd apparently wandered off on her own, was reunited with her parents.

She was located by a K9 team in a wooded area around three-quarters of a mile from her home, west of Tawas City.

Authorities said Brooklyn had some superficial cuts and bruises from her ordeal, but was otherwise unharmed and was expected to be OK. She was taken to a local hospital to be checked out as a precaution.

The search started Wednesday for the girl after she was last reported seen about 2:20 p.m. that day at her home in the 1900 block of Laidlaw.

Michigan State Police Sgt. Ron Taylor people on foot as well as aviation uints assisted on Thursday in the search.

Tawas is located in northern lower Michigan, about 130 miles north of Detroit.
