Authorities: No Working Smoke Detectors At Mobile Home Fire Which Claimed Life

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A suburban Detroit fire chief say investigators have confirmed the identity of a person killed in a fatal fire at a mobile home in the Detroit suburb but won't release the victim's name.

Canton Township Chief Josh Meier says in a statement that he's withholding the name "at the request of the victim's family."

Meier's statement Thursday had no new information on what caused the fire, which happened Wednesday morning at Wagon Wheel Mobile Home Park in the Wayne County community.

Meier says the home had no working smoke detectors.
