Authorities: Driver Fleeing Police Dies In Crash In West Michigan

HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a driver fleeing from police has died after crashing in western Michigan.

Holland police say the man was spotted speeding and disregarded a stop sign after leaving an apartment complex on Tuesday night. Police say an officer tried to stop the man, but the SUV slowed before speeding up. He ran a red light and collided with two vehicles.

The Holland Sentinel reports the 33-year-old Holland man died at the scene. His name wasn't immediately released.

The other two drivers and two passengers, including a 3-year-old child, had what authorities say were minor injuries. The Ottawa County sheriff's department is investigating.
