Authorities: 7-Month-Old Pontiac Boy Dies; Abuse Suspected

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - Authorities investigating a case of suspected child abuse say a 7-month-old Pontiac boy has died after being found with severe head injuries.
The Oakland County sheriff's department says the child died Saturday at a hospital.

An autopsy is planned Monday to determine cause of death. More information about the case is expected to be released after the results are known.

The sheriff's department says deputies responded last week to meet with Children's Protective Services at the hospital about a case of suspected child abuse. The child's 18-year-old father said he accidentally bumped the child's head on a railing. He was arrested on an unrelated warrant.
