AT&T Boosts Wi-Fi At Labor Day Festivals

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Metro Detroit's two big Labor Day weekend festivals will have increased connectivity for AT&T customers through Wi-Fi Hot Zones established at the Detroit Jazz Festival and Arts, Beats & Eats in Royal Oak.
"Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience, and we're excited to bring Wi-Fi to AT&T customers attending the Jazz Fest and Arts, Beats & Eats," said Jim Murray, president, AT&T Michigan. "This investment in our Detroit area network is a Labor Day weekend gift to our customers that will keep giving all day long."
These AT&T Hot Zones - which help mobile users chat on social networks, explore event calendars and post photos - are part of an expansion of AT&T Wi-Fi in Detroit.
The communication company is adding more access points around Hart Plaza where the Jazz Fest, co-sponsored by AT&T, will be held, and in downtown Royal Oak, the site of Arts, Beats & Eats.
In addition to the new Hot Spots for the Labor Day weekend events, AT&T customers have access to more than 420 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots at retail locations, bookstores, restaurants and hospitality venues.
Both Arts, Beats & Eats, and the Detroit Jazz Festival, begin Friday.
