Arraignment For 3 Teens Accused Of Defacing Detroit Buildings

DETROIT (WWJ) - Three teenage girls from Grosse Pointe Woods are scheduled to be arraigned Monday on felony charges of spray painting buildings in downtown Detroit.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says 18-year-old Esabella Meteer, 17-year-old Mackenzie Snitgen and 17-year-old Mary Elizabeth Harder participated in the defacing of two buildings in downtown Detroit.

Each faces one count of malicious destruction of a building $1000 to $20,000 —a felony which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Two buildings: one in the 40 block of Michigan Avenue and one in the 1100 block of Griswold in Detroit were spray painted, prosecutors said, on Sunday, June 22, at around 9:30 p.m.

If convicted, they could face up to five years in prison.
