Annual Walk, Run Honors Memory Of Slain Woman

MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) — The annual Tara Grant Memorial Walk & Run is taking place in Mount Clemens.

Hundreds of people are expected to participate in Saturday's event. It's hosted by Turning Point, a Mount Clemens shelter for domestic violence and sexual abuse victims.

The event comes ahead of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which takes place in October. Turning Point says its staff and supporters will honor, welcome and remember all victims and their families and celebrate survivors. On-site registration is available.

The 34-year-old Grant was slain in February 2007 in her Washington Township home. Her husband was convicted in her death and dismemberment.
