Anibal Sanchez Leaves Friday's Game With Pectoral Strain

TORONTO (AP) — Detroit Tigers right-hander Anibal Sanchez left Friday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the fifth inning with an apparent injury to his right side.

Sanchez lifted his right arm as if trying to stretch after striking out Josh Thole for the second out of the inning. Detroit's trainer came to the mound and could be seen massaging the area around Sanchez's armpit. After trying a warmup pitch, Sanchez walked to the dugout and was replaced by left-hander Blaine Hardy.

Sanchez allowed four runs, three earned, and 10 hits in 4 2-3 innings. He walked one and struck out three.
