Andre Drummond Among 30 USA Basketball Olympic Team Finalists

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) -- Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond will be one of 30 NBA players vying for a spot on the 2016 USA Basketball Men's Olympic team.

Three-time Olympic medalists Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James headline the list. The official 12-member 2016 U.S. Olympic Men's Basketball Team roster will be announced later this year.

Featuring 18 players who have collected 29 Olympic or FIBA Basketball World Cup gold medals and six bronze medals, the 30 finalists for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team also include LaMarcus Aldridge, Harrison Barnes, Bradley Beal, Jimmy Butler, Mike Conley, DeMarcus Cousins, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder); Kenneth Faried, Rudy Gay, Paul George, Draymond Green, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Gordon Hayward, Dwight Howard, Andre Iguodala, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Love, Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, John Wall and Russell Westbrook.

Again leading the 2016 USA coaching staff is Duke University's Naismith Hall of Fame head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Serving as USA assistant coaches are Jim Boeheim, Tom Thibodeau and Monty Williams.

Drummond played with Team USA during the FIBA World Cup of Basketball in 2014, winning the Gold metal.
