Alfredo Simon Leaves Game With Slight Limp In 7th

BOSTON (AP) -- Detroit Tigers starter Alfredo Simon has left Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox after throwing a pitch in the seventh inning and then appearing to limp slightly.

Simon threw the second pitch of the inning to Pablo Sandoval and shortstop Jose Iglesias and catcher James McCann trotted to the mound. Simon appeared to land awkwardly after stretching his right leg.

Manager Brad Ausmus and a trainer came to the mound and Simon walked off slowly. He was replaced by Ian Krol.

The Tigers were leading 5-1.
