Alcohol Abuse? Budweiser Truck Door Flies Open, Covers Road With Cases Of Beer

ST. CLAIR SHORES (CBS Detroit) WWJ reporters are on the way to the scene of a crash at 9 Mile and Mack Drive, where a Budweiser truck had a mishap.

The South Macomb Scanner announced on Facebook the truck was making a turn when the door flew open and cases of beer crashed onto the roadway.

"The whole roadway is covered with broken glass and beer," the Facebook page says, adding, "Use caution in that area. There are a couple lanes of traffic blocked."

There do not appear to be any injuries, alcohol-induced or otherwise.

Police reported that truck had just made a delivery, and as it was leaving, the driver took a wide turn to avoid a vehicle in the intersection and hit the curb. When the truck hit the curb, a secondary lock on the truck was not secure became unhinged and five cases of beer spilled onto 9 Mile.

There was no damage to the roadway, or any vehicles, and the roadway was cleared for traffic.

This report was updated at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
