After Clashing Outside Courtroom, Reporter And Attorney Will Meet On The Ice

DETROIT (WWJ) -- You may remember FOX 2 reporter M.L. Elrick got into a little argument with Bobby Ferguson's attorney Mike Rataj during the Kwame Kilpatrick trial back in February 2013.

Rataj was questioned about a Martin Luther King quote used by one of Ferguson's other attorneys by Elrick outside the courthouse, where he asked whether Rataj thought the prosecution was racist

Then things got heated. You can read and hear part of the exchange HERE.

Now, the two will be facing off in a charity hockey game for the Clark Park Coalition. Elrick's team and Rataj's team will duel in the Clark Park Winter Carnival on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Clark Park in Detroit.

"Clark Park, if you've never been there, has ball fields, a rec center, an outdoor hockey rink -- it's a real oasis in southwest Detroit," Elrick said.

So, should attendees expect there to be any bad blood between the two on the ice?

"It's supposed to be a friendly game, but I have a really bad feeling that Mike Rataj may leave me in traction," Elrick said.

The event begins at noon and will include food, outdoor games, music, a petting zoo, marshmallow roasting and ice skating.
