Accused Roseville Gunman Held On $50,000 Bond

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A 43-year-old man accused of shooting another man during an altercation in Roseville has been charged in the case.

Lamarr Peterson was arraigned Friday in 39th District Court on a felony charge of assault with intent to do great bodily hard less than murder.  Judge Catherine Steenland set bond at $50,000, no 10 percent.

The charges stem from an incident that happened just after 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 on Macomb Street, between Church and Oakdale, not far from 10 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue.

Police say Peterson was involved in an altercation with a 50-year-old Clinton Township man, during which he allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired off several rounds before fleeing on foot.

The victim was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the hand and groin, and is expected to recover.

Peterson was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 6 without incident. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted as charged.
