Aaron Hernandez Won't Attend Florida Shooting Lawsuit Trial

MIAMI (AP) — Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez will not attend the Florida trial later this month for a lawsuit filed by a friend who says Hernandez shot him in the face.

Documents filed this week in Miami federal court show that the trial of Alexander Bradley's lawsuit will begin Nov. 30 without Hernandez. The former New England Patriots player is serving a life prison sentence for the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

Hernandez has also pleaded not guilty to murder charges in Boston, where he's accused of gunning down two men outside a nightclub in 2012.

Bradley is seeking damages for injuries he suffered in the February 2013 shooting that happened after he and Hernandez left a Miami strip club.
