A 'Michigan Matters' Exclusive: Educating Young Detroiters In Need

With Gov. Rick Snyder talking about ways to improve Detroit Public Schools, four leaders from business and education gathered with host Carol Cain to talk about that and the issue of better preparing more young people for school during a special taping of "Michigan Matters."

Ric DeVore, regional president for Detroit and Southeast Michigan, PNC Bank; Tonya Allen, president/CEO of The Skillman Foundation; Douglas Bitonti Stewart, executive director, Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation talked about the issues. Sharon Darling, who runs National Center for Families Learning, based in Louisville, Kentucky, also flew in to be part of the conversation.
