80-Year-Old Woman Fights Off Suspected Carjacker [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are asking for the public's help finding a man who is believed to be a suspect in an attempted carjacking of an 80-year-old woman.

The incident took place on the city's west side in the 13400 block of W. Eight Mile Rd. near Coolidge Hwy. on Thursday just before 2:30 p.m.

The unknown black male suspect approached the victim while she was in her car. He attempted to pull her out of the vehicle and told her to "get out."

The woman fought back and the suspect ran off when she started screaming for help. The victim was not injured.

Police describe the suspect as a 5-foot-11, 300-pound black male with a medium complexion, a short afro, a full beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue basketball shorts and red gym shoes.
