75-Year-Old Woman Who Disappeared From Hospital Found Alive And Well

GARDEN CITY (WWJ) It was another sleepless night for Denise Streiner, whose 75-year-old mother seemed to disappear into thin air this week.

And then frustration turned to jubilation.

Judith Gonzalez, who was last seen around 3 p.m. Monday when she walked away from Garden City Hospital on Inkster Road, was found alive and well Wednesday. She had pulled out her feeding tube, walked away from a hospital emergency room and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Police confirm she was found in Dearborn Heights and said her family is with her, but they didn't reveal further details.

Son Willian Pratt had earlier described his mother as "confused," saying she suffers from dementia and severe paranoia. The longer Gonzalez was without medication, the more severe her confusion would become, Pratt worried.

"Every minute that goes by, she's just out there, every minute is worse than the minute before," Steiner said while her mother was missing.
