725-Horsepower Ford Mustang Rocket Revealed On The Street [VIDEO]

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Watching this video lets anyone fantasize about rolling in their 5.0.

The Mustang Rocket, with a 5.0 liter V-8 under its sleek hood, hit the street for the very first time in Los Angeles under the deft hands of its creator Henrik Fisker.

Fisker designed what's been described as a "Mustang on steroids," which goes from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. He's famous for past creations including the BMW Z8 and Aston Martin V8.

TMZ caught up with Fisker as he took a ride on the Sunset strip in the first 725-horsepower Rocket to roll off a production line.

It's reportedly priced at more than $100,000, which makes it perfect for one of Detroit's sports car loving major league athletes.

Will Justin Verlander buy one? He was Tweeting about the Ford GT back in January.

And it could wash the taste out of the mouths out of bitter Detroiters who object to Verlander taking foreign rides, like his orange Lamborghini, out on Woodward Dream Cruise. If he's in the market for some Detroit engineered steel, this could be right up his alley.
