70-Year-Old Man Injured During Carjacking In Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) - Highland Park police are searching for suspects in the carjacking of a 70-year old man.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday at Hamilton and Cortland near Calvary Baptist Church.

Police identify the victim as 70-year-old Reginald Carr.

"He was out and some perps came up to him and carjacked him, and got away with vehicle, it's a blue Trailblazer, a 2007 blue Trailblazer, and he was grazed multiple times," said Highland Park spokesperson Marly Blackman.

Carr was taken to the hospital after being wounded by gunfire.

The suspects then drove off with his SUV.
