69-Year-Old Woman Tasered, Robbed On Walk Home From Detroit Bus Stop

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for the man who robbed a senior citizen after attacking her with a Taser in northern Detroit.

The incident happened around 6:20 a.m. Monday in the area of Savannah and Charleston streets, just east of Woodward Avenue.

According to police, a 69-year-old woman was walking home from the bus stop when a black male approached her and tasered her in the neck, causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect then kicked the woman and stole her purse containing $900 in cash, medication and bank cards, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene on a bicycle. He is described as about 24-years-old with a medium brown complexion, 5'8" tall and 180 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.
