4-Year-Old Michigan Girl's Apparent Drowning Under Investgation

JEROME TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 4-year-old girl has died after being found in a pool at her family's home in Midland County.

The sheriff's department says it responded Thursday evening following a report of a possible drowning in Jerome Township, about 100 miles northwest of Detroit.

The department says Autumn May Trudell was being watched by a 16-year-old sibling while their mother was at work. The sibling began searching for the 4-year-old after she couldn't be found in the home. Another person discovered her face down in the pool.

The sheriff's department says Autumn was pronounced dead at a hospital.

An autopsy is planned and the death is under investigation.
