4-Year-Old Holly Boy Pulled From Pool, Revived At Hospital

HOLLY (WWJ) - A 4-year old Holly Township boy is in critical condition after apparently falling into a swimming pool.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the boy wasn't breathing when he was pulled from the water by his mother Tuesday afternoon at a home on Belmont Court near Holly.

Witnesses told investigators that an adult water aerobics class had just finished and several children were swimming in the shallow end of the pool at the time of the incident. The boy said he was done swimming for the day and took off his life jacket. Minutes later, sheriff's officials said, the toddler was found in the the deep end of the pool.

A bystander called 911 and EMS arrived at the scene to find that CPR was already being administered to the child by the homeowner who is an emergency room nurse.

The boy didn't have a pulse, officials said, but was rushed to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac where he was revived. He was then airlifted to Beaumont Hospital for further treatment.

The boy's name has not been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
