3-Year-Old Michigan Boy Fatally Struck By Pickup Driven By Mom

LEVERING, Mich. (AP) - A 3-year-old northern Michigan boy has been struck and killed by a pickup driven by his 27-year-old mother.

The Emmet County sheriff's office says Monday that Nathan Cordray was pushing a stroller when he was hit Sunday afternoon.

The pickup was being driven by Emily Cordray. The Petoskey News-Review reports that Emily Cordray was the boy's mother and that he was struck outside their home in Levering, south of Mackinaw City.

The sheriff's office says Nathan was not seen as he walked into the vehicle's path. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the incident appears to be accidental.
