1. Jimmy Howard - In Game 1, Howard was outstanding. In Game 2 and Game 3, he was not. He was out with the flu in Game 4. The Red Wings needed Howard to be at his very best to win this series. He hasn't been.

2. Johan Franzen - He carries the reputation for scoring goals in bunches. The Red Wings could use a bunch. Franzen doesn't even have one goal in this series.

3. Gustav Nyquist - Has cooled off dramatically since his late season goal scoring surge.
